A fresh white that exhibits notes of white peach, ripe pear, citrus fruits and hints of kaffir lime. Balanced with fresh acidity and subtle mid-palate texture. A complex, food friendly wine.
James Halliday \ Wine Companion 90 points, Vintage 2023: A reduced vintage saw 30% Adelaide Hills fruit supplementing the estate harvest. Fermented wild in tank, with pressings in barrel, this is quite a citric fiano expression, with pungent yellow/pink grapefruit and Lisbon lemon aromas, along with a herbal shading and note of passionfruit, albeit a quiet one. The palate tracks fairly straight, with a refreshing line of acidity and gentle fleshing of the mid-palate. Marcus Ellis Published 12 February 2024
James Halliday \ Wine Companion 95 points, Vintage 2022: I enjoy tasting this family’s wines. Each year, an incremental ascendancy of quality and integrity: hand picked, partially wild fermented on skins for 10 days to impart flavour and textural moxie, a bit of barrel, blending and time on lees with some stirring. This brims with pear, wild fennel, raw almond and citrus verbena. The finish, salty and firm, the phenolics directing the intense wave of flavour. As prescient as it is fine drinking.
