This wine has vibrant aromas of sweet soft lemon rind, pink grapefruit and pear. A great balance of fruit and acidity. The palate is crisp and fresh with a zingy citric sea spray, which is what this variety is all about.
James Halliday \ Wine Companion: 93 points Made virtually identically to the fiano, albeit, imparting a different textural kaleidoscope. This, phenolic to be sure, but softer and talcy. All Meyer lemon and nashi pear. Cinnamon stick and pistachio, too. This wisps across the tongue, while the fiano etches the cheeks and creates a fully immersive effect. I love both. Similarly salty, intense and long. Easier drinking, perhaps. But not quite the same degree of intrigue or mouth-pummelling intensity. This said, wine is all in the moment and this should have plenty at your table. Ned Goodwin MW Published 03 August 2022
